Kerry Caught Lying . . . Again

Thursday, in Anoka, Minnesota, Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry said, "I am absolutely telling you the God's honest truth with regard to what happened over there." This response was to a direct question about whether or not he lied about Vietnam.

Friday, Rober Novak published an interview with Retired Rear Adm. William L. Schachte Jr. during which Schachte said, "Kerry nicked himself with a M-79 (grenade launcher). Kerry requested a Purple Heart."

This is significant because, if Schachte's statement is true, not only is Kerry lying to us now about what happened "over there," Kerry also lied to the Navy when he put in for his first Purple Heart. This, in turn, when coupled with the whole White House medal toss incident and other incident inflations begins, at least in my mind, to reveal a pattern of lying by the senator.

Rock the moron vote

According to Alice Cooper, "If you're listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you're a bigger moron than they are."

The Police State of New Jersey

New Jersey touted Wednesday the success of placing uniformed police officers inside the "friendlier" MVC. Officials say the uniformed police officers are part of a statewide program to stamp out identity theft, unruly behavior and the circulation of fake driver's licenses.

Identity theft, unruly behavior and the circulation of fake driver's licenses are certainly problems worthy of being addressed. However, taking a local police officer off the street to sit him in the MVC doesn't seem to me like an efficient use of scarce crime prevention resources. What's next, placing police officers in Wawas to stamp out underage smoking?

Mini-Donorcycle Death

This is a tragic story. However, hopefully some good can come from Angel Boulogne's death and the parents in my neighborhood and elsewhere will take these mini-donorcycles away from their kids before someone else gets hurt . . . or worse.

The Daily News reported Thursday morning about an ex-revenue department supervisor Jeannette A. James appealing her firing. Nothing uncommon about that. What is interesting, though, is that James initially lost her job because she pled guilty to stealing more than $30,000 from her department.

Curiously, however, the story never mentioned the theory upon which James is basing her appeal.
